After his first season at Oakland University defenseman Anthony Yearego
learned an obvious but valuable lesson “The game is not over ‘til the last horn.”
Yearego said. Especially at Oakland where in the past few seasons the Grizzlies
have experienced multiple late game heroics.

After his first season in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA)
Yearego now has a feel for the level of talent the competition brings to the ice
every night. “It’s not a tough league and depending on the team, some teams
are way more skilled then others, but always have to give 100%” he stated.
Giving your all at all times is important as the Grizzlies found out the hard way
with key loses against Adrian and UM-Dearborn, teams OU expect to defeat to
be in the ACHA elite.

Backup Goalie Position Up For Grabs

the ONYX Ice Arena, the Grizzlies have two spots open in goal. It is very unlikely
that someone will come in and unseat Collin Chase, who is expected to once
again to be the Grizzlies starting goaltender,

However, for the past several seasons the main backup to Chase has been
Andrew Hansen, who departs the club after his senior season. Hansen was
everything you could expect in a backup and more as you always felt you had as
good a chance to win a game with either Chase or Hansen in net.
